Philips
Set to Acquire Genlyte For $2.7 Billion
November
26, 2007 - "The Genlyte
Group Incorporated ("Genlyte"), a leading manufacturer
of lighting fixtures, controls, and related products for the
commercial, industrial and residential markets, today announced
that it has entered into a definitive merger agreement with
Philips Holding USA Inc. ("Philips"), a fully-owned
subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics pursuant to which Philips

of Genlyte with Philips' acquisition subsidiary. The tender

LDI 2007 NEWS AND
HOT NEW
PRODUCTS
Well, LDI 2007 is
over and fun was had by all! Some maybe had TOO much fun...!
As expected,
the floor was completely covered in LED Fixtures and Effects.
A few of the units looked promising with new features and
improved brightness compared to last years models. Even without
the prescence of lighting giants High End Systems & Martin,
the show held it's own and offered a good variety of new moving
light and console options.
Chauvet Lighting Won Big
Booth Of The Year
Chauvet
Lighting won the Big Booth of the Year Award and Selador
won the Small Booth of the Year Award this year. Best debuting
product went to Zap Technology for the Mini-Big, a compact
3K xenon search light with CYM scrollers, shutter, and strobing
that only requires 16amps single phase power.
Selador Won Small Booth
Of The Year
Here are a few
other products that we saw this year and feel need a special
mention:
Alpha Beam 300
Clay Paky
Exclusively
presented by Clay Paky, ALPHA
BEAM 300 produces a superconcentrated near parallel
light beam, for a use very similar to that of a Par
64 ACL, always present in all the big Rock’n’Roll
shows, but with superior and innovative features.
The
new, special Clay Paky optical group, with a 300 W lamp
produces three times the brightness as that of an ordinary
1200 W wash projector, generating an extraordinary “tube
of light” with a natural beam of 8°.
120v RGB NeoFlex
is made with a row of LEDs spaced every 1/2 inch inside
a flexible, diffusing plastic tube, making it a low-maintenance,
durable, easy-to-install alternative to traditional
glass neon.
Call
Koster Design for more information, pricing or a demo
on this amazing neon alternative.
We offer
standard NeoFlex in amber, red, blue, green, warm
white, cool white and orange as well as the above
mentioned RGB Color Mixing version.
